Determine the Liner Size Needed

Bag Width
measure the outer circumference of the trash container. One half of the outer circumference is the bag width.  For square or rectangular receptacles, use the diagonal of the container bottom, rather than the diameter.

Bag Length
first measure the height of the trash container and then measure the diameter. Add the height of the container to half of the diameter plus 3 inches of overhang. This gives you the appropriate bag length for the container.

Liner Packaging

A Coreless Roll
The coreless roll is a neatly wound roll of 25 or 50 can liners. Each bag is separated by a convenient, easy-tear perforation. Each bag comes off the roll open end first, ready to be inserted into a receptacle.
--Since coreless rolls are pre-counted, management of your inventory is simple. Pre-counted rolls can be distributed to employees one at a time, from the box or by the roll. You always know how many you have distributed and how many you have left in each case.

Flat-pack
Flat Packed, top-side dispenser boxes allow for easy stacking in small places. The can liners pull conveniently both from the front and the sides of the box.

Choose The Right Material For The Job

High Density Liners
High density liners are our best recommendation for many common but demanding applications and dispensing needs. High-density can liners feel crinkly and will not stretch. Their high tensile strength prevents breakage, which makes them great for wet, nonsharp waste, paper, and heavy trash. They are prone to zippering. This occurs when a puncture in the bag tears the length of the bag and it “unzips.”

Linear Low Density Liners
Linear low-density options offer superior stretch, high tensile strength, high resistance to tearing, and high puncture resistance. They are recommended for use with sharp or jagged trash.

The Right Liner Gauge is Important

It's important to choose the liner that most accurately fits your application. A liner with too heavy or thick of a gauge wastes money, but too thin or lightweight of a liner may cause you to ‘double-bag’, or even worse, cause an accidental leak. To help you decide what gauge is right for you, give us a call at 1-800-728-7101 for a free usage audit. It will save you both labor and material costs.

Mil
A mil is a measurement based on a thousandth of an inch (.001). Linear Low Density trash can liners will range from .30 to 2.0 mils. Improved resin technologies have allowed manufacturers to produce thinner trash can liners that are much stronger than the trash can liners of the past.

Micron
A micron is a measurement based on one hundred thousandths of an inch (.00001). High Density trash can liners range from 6 to 24 microns.

Microns to Mils Formula Mils to Microns Formula

Divide the microns by 25.4 to arrive at Mil thickness.

Multiply the mils by 25.4 to arrive at the mil thickness.

Example: 10 Microns / 25.4 = .39 Mil Example: 1 Mil = 25.4 Microns.
30 Mil x 25.4 = 7.6 Microns.

Seals

A star seal bottom is the most common type of seal. It eliminates gaps along the seal to minimize leaks. This type of seal can more easily conform to the shape of the container and maximizes your bag carrying capacity. It helps distribute trash weight evenly throughout the bag. As a result, you can fill the liner with more trash, reducing the number of bags used.

Flat Sealed Bottom
Flat Seal trash bags are manufactured by simply sealing the bottom edge. This type of seal is somewhat leak-proof and do not compromise the length of the trash can liner. Trash bags made with a flat seal do not conform well to the waste receptacle, making them difficult to utilize.

Gusset Seal
Gusset Seal trash bags are a flat style trash can liner that is manufactured with both sides tucked in to form gussets. The outer edges of the trash bags where there are indentations is sealed with four layers of film, while the middle are sealed with only two layers. Trash bags made with gussets have a tendency to leak with wet trash.

Healthcare Liners

Healthcare liners meet or exceed recommended U.S. Federal EPA regulations for film strength, color coding, and biohazard symbols and messages, and are recognized for their superior quality and consistency. Available ether printed or non-printed. Colors available include red for infectious waste, yellow for infectious linen and blue for soiled linen.

Stretch Fit Linear Low Density Liners

  • Exclusive diamond pattern provides efficient, secure fit
  • Contribute to source reduction through the use of thinner, stronger films and elimination of excess sizing and liner overhang
  • Resists punctures and tears; routinely handles heavy, irregular or sharp waste

Just pull the revolutionary new Stretch-Fit liner, with its patented diamond construction, snugly around the lip of your container. That's it. It stays put, so you can stay productive. No tie offs. No slip ins. No waste. Flat seal.
